NWT is looking for summer interns for 2026 – Sweden's funniest job!

NWT is the news leader in Värmland and we are now looking for you who want to join the hunt for the hottest news during the summer of 2026.

We are looking for reporters for various roles as well as photographers.

NWT and ERNA Media

NWT is one of Sweden's largest newspapers (digital + print) outside Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Skåne. NWT is the largest title within Erna Media, which is one of Sweden's leading media houses with 15 titles delivering local journalism through websites, apps, and newspapers. The company's vision is to uphold democracy and free speech through journalism that engages, surprises, and enlightens.

Erna Media is part of Erna Gruppen, which has a clear growth strategy for the coming years. In addition to local journalism, the group also operates in marketing, distribution, and property management. We are located in Värmland, Skaraborg, and Dalsland.

Reporters and Photographers

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for reporters for the following departments at NWT:

• Newsroom
• Breaking Desk
• Sports
• Local Editor Northern Värmland
• Entertainment and Culture
• Photographer(s) with experience in filming short segments and content for social media.

About Us

The news hunt is the foundation of all journalism, especially at NWT. Our editorial team is the news leader in Värmland, and our goal is always to be first with the latest. As a news reporter with us, every day is a new match to win. The coverage area is Värmland and the topics are diverse.

The target audience is clear: we want to attract Värmland residents under 40 to read our journalism. This can involve quickly delivering text and images from an accident on the E18, the sharpest interview with a municipal chief who has been fired, gathering as much information as possible about the weekend's major brawl, to live reporting on the summer's worst weather chaos.

Some days you will write three quick news articles and help create Värmland's hottest topic right now. Other days you will plan and write the weekend's best premium journalism.

You will work closely with the news desk and other colleagues, and we guarantee a fun and developing job. Our interns usually enjoy their time here; we are a welcoming and inclusive editorial team. Karlstad is also a lovely summer city, and Värmland really comes alive in the summer.

About You

You are already an established journalist or studying journalism. You love news, are creative, like to try new things, and have a good understanding of what engages our digital audiences.

You enjoy working in a team and have the ability to build trust. A B driver's license is a requirement for all positions.

The internships vary in length, and all positions except for the local editor in the north are based at NWT's headquarters in Karlstad. Please indicate which positions you are interested in, preferably in order of priority.
